Protective gloves and other hand protective equipments against thermal risks (heat and/or fire)

Gloves certified to the EN 407 standard protect the wearer from the risks connected to exposure to heat, flame and splashes of molten metal.

The glove’s heat-resistant properties are tested and classified with a performance level as shown in the tables below.

Protection from contact heat in performance levels 3 and 4 is only specified if Limited flame spread meets performance level 3 or higher. Otherwise Contact heat is specified in performance level 2.  

The results for the following properties are only specified if Limited flame spread is performance level 3 or higher;

Small splashes of molten metal  1 - 4
Large quantities of molten metal 1 - 4
 0 means that the glove does not meet the minimum requirement for the protective property. X means that the protective property has not been tested.

All gloves certified in accordance with the EN 407 standard must meet at least performance level 1 in Resistance to abrasion and Tear resistance, in accordance with EN 388.
